upside down house kitchen:

This project was an interesting one. To start with, the house was upside down with the kitchen in the attic. There were many problems and layout issues to deal with here. The original place for the kitchen was along the wall with the sky light. When I entered the room, the space just felt wrong and the kitchen they had was a complete mess. Nothing worked for the owner.

We proposed that we move the kitchen and place it all along the gable wall. This would allow for lots of storage, hide the hot water tank (this could not be moved) plus allow the kitchen table to be pushed in under the sky light. We designed a bench here and storage under in the form of drawers. The island unit gave the owner a work area where they could face family or friends too. It proved to be a big success and changed the entire way the owner used their home.
